Puzzle plates
The IJzeren man nature and environmental center approached my former education with an issue. They were looking for support in setting up their upcoming exhibition about animals in the Netherlands. As a student, I tackled this issue together with a few others. My contribution to the exhibition was the concept of the puzzle plates.
The target group was school children, so the search plates could be a bit more complicated. That gave me space to unleash my full creativity. However, I wanted to keep the animals and environments realistic as the search plates had an educational purpose. To gain inspiration, I visited the nature and environmental center and took some photos. Inspired by these photos, I painted the environments in Photoshop and added the line work in Illustrator.
Because the search plates are made entirely in vector, they are scalable. This was important because its size was still undetermined. It also made it easier for me to reduce and enlarge animals. This way I was able to hide various animals in the landscape without any difficulty. Can you find them?
