Seamless Repeat Pattern 85

Raw Polka dots teamed up with lined floral motif and the result is marble texture like polkas. Another polka floral – I’m still waiting for that day when I’ll finally give in and create just plain simple polkas. For now, it doesn’t look like an idea highly attractive to me.

In the language of pattern making, the layout is in ‘brick by row’ layout, a 90 degree opposite twin of half drop. Didn't use pattern tool, just eyeballed it. So here n there may be slightly misalignment. Overall I’m happy with it. Done is better than blank pattern swatch!

About the floral motif, I wasn’t planning for it. It just came through my hand, I was shwooshing with pencil tool in illustrator, just random strokes - the moment I finished drawing it, it almost sort of smiled at me and said hello to me! It’s special in that way that I don’t think I can make another exact copy of it. Thank god for the ‘alt’ option in illustrator. It’s a stress reliever.

Also I’m getting comfortable at testing swatch and making adjustments – all the testing and adjusting that goes in the process was a shock for me after the first admired/motivated phase of pattern making faded.
