Hourglass

For today's blog post titled, Time Is Worthless.

I had a lot of fun with this one. Here's a bit about the process:
> All of the lighting is done as strokes with custom weight profiles applied to them. So everything is nice and clean at first.
> Then everything is expanded, and the strokes are cut out from the silhouette, similar to how a true engraving would be.
> Although I like the clean lines, sometimes it's nice to throw some inconsistencies and wonky-ness to it. So I roughen everything slightly, expand it again, blur it slightly, then give it a live trace. So things become a little simplified, kind of like what would happen during the printing process or what would come with age.

I enjoyed the inconsistency that comes out of the process. My favorite part is that little white line in the bottom right :)
