Bolt On a Budget

I've worked on a fun new feature for Bolt app. I call it "bolt on a budget" 😏

Why is this feature needed?

I'm sure we've all been in situations where we book a ride for a certain amount, and on getting to our destination, we realize that due to certain uncontrollable circumstances the fare has increased (sometimes even doubled). Now imagine that, for some reason, you can't afford to pay the new fare. What happens?...

The solution:

After doing some digging😉which included conducting both primary (interviews) and secondary research, I came up with a possible solution 😎 What if we had a feature that let's users specify the maximum amount that they are willing to spend on a bolt ride? 🤔

The idea is simple:

You input the max amount you're willing/able to pay for a ride, you get notified when you have reached your bolt budget for that ride, and you're given options to either end the ride or continue the ride for an additional fee. 😌

This way, you have absolute control over how much you're willing to spend on rides. This means no more embarrassing situations for those who might not be able to pay the extra fare cost. 🤗

PS: To achieve this, I had to do both primary and secondary research. I also redesigned and prototyped flows from the bolt app that were needed.
