UV index widget within a webapp
Background
90% of skin aging is by daily sun exposure
All skin tones need sunscreen and can get skin cancer
What is the UV index? (from WHO)
The UVI is a measure of the level of UV radiation.
The values of the index range from zero upward - the higher the UVI, the greater the potential for damage to the skin and eye, and the less time it takes for harm to occur.
The UVI is an important vehicle to alert people about the need to use sun protection.
The problem
UV index is provided by most weather apps, but how often do you actually notice it and use it to better prepare yourself for the harsh sun?
Most people don’t know what UV index even means and how to use this info.
Solution
A widget at the top of the dashboard that recognises your location and lets you know the strength of the sun's UV levels each day (or even the progression during the day). The widget is only shown during the summer months.
