Bookstore Brand and Sinage Design: A City's Cultural Persistence
The writer Borges once said: "If there is, it should be a paradise for libraries." But I think that bookstores can be called "heaven" more than libraries. They represent the spiritual temperature of the city. In this space, creators and readers look back on the past, communicate with the present, and look forward to the future in this "cultural living room of the city".
In the days of studying in London, people always like to hold paper books in the subway. In this era when "paper media" has become more and more outdated, bookstores can still recall the image of a city's cultural brand. Xiange Bookstore was founded in 1997. It was originally named "Lantian Bookstore" and then changed its name to "Xiange Bookstore" in 2004. It is a social science bookstore. The bookstore is located on Qianzhi Street, Dongmen County, Minnan Normal University. The name of the store is taken from Baili Xiange Lane. It hopes to inherit the century-old story of old Zhangzhou through sculptures.
The hosts, Biscuit and Bugle, are a young couple who decided to upgrade the brand to enhance the experience of the scene and space of the bookstore in order to inherit the persistent and deep love of the ancestors for the bookstore; All kinds of coffee and desserts make reading a "highlight". The architectural feature of Zhangzhou City is the eaves. We use books to build a cultural backbone to explore the inheritance and innovation of a culture.
