Chat Picture Maker
In response to a common issue on VK, our team created the Chat Picture Maker to solve the lack of avatars in new chats.
I worked with the team as the product designer in charge of this project to develop an engaging and original solution using modern practices in the interface design industry.
Now, you can create chat pictures with just one click by accessing the editor, which offers a wide selection of emojis and stickers.
The demand for the Chat Picture Maker was brought on by a number of feedback sources:
Employees at VK, who constantly started new chats while working, complained that the lack of this functionality was bothersome.
Additionally, many VK users contacted customer service to ask for the addition of an avatars generation functionality.
I'm happy that we succeeded in transforming lifeless empty avatar states into something lively and engaging. Many users were truly creative.
We also supported grids and the ability to create layers to make the process of creating a profile picture maker as creative as designing in a graphic editor. This makes it easy to craft a funny chat picture.
We developed the Chat Picture Maker as a mini-app using VKUI components and design patterns.
Collaboration was a key aspect of this project's success. I closely collaborated with developers, UX writers, other designers and stakeholders to ensure the smooth integration of the Chat Picture Maker into the VK platform.
