Material girl
Improvement was made
Creating this 3D model of a hand holding a plastic cup in Blender has been a rewarding and time-consuming experience for me. Sculpting the hand took quite a bit of effort, and I spent several hours honing its details and proportions, using my own hand as a reference to achieve a more realistic and natural look. It was challenging to get the intricate curves and joints just right, but the process taught me a lot about anatomy and sculpting techniques.
Following the lead
As for the plastic material, learning from the techniques shared by Bacosil, the renowned 3D modeler, was incredibly beneficial. His expertise in composition and material experimentation inspired me to explore different settings and shaders in Blender to achieve a convincing plastic appearance. I invested a significant amount of time tweaking the material's properties, experimenting with various textures and reflections to create a compelling illusion of translucent plastic.
As fate would have it, this passion project of mine reached completion just in time for the release day of Barbie's film at the theater. The timing couldn't have been more perfect, considering I had envisioned the 3D model to exude a plastic and girly aesthetic with the materials I used.
To conclude...
Though the journey was filled with trial and error, the knowledge gained from Bacosil's teachings and my dedication to learning Blender on my own have played a crucial role in bringing this project to life. While I may not be on the same level as Bacosil just yet, I'm humbled by the progress I've made, and I'm excited to continue developing my skills and techniques as I venture further into the world of 3D modeling.
