Mehaini Arcade Mural - Final Composition
When designing the mural, I decided the best approach would be to draw it in its entriely before transferring the desgin onto the wall. A lot can go wrong with tradtitional work, so it's best to have everything decided in terms of colors and overall composition before diving in.
The only prompt I was given for this piece was 'Skeleton.' The client didn't give me anything else to go on. I knew this piece would be on the wall of a private mural, so I thought it would be a good idea to pay homage to the games that shaped so many of us.
I enjoy playing with containers. I wanted the skeletonn to be made of glass. There is something about glass in illustrations that gives me so much joy in playing with. I greatly enjoyed incorporating the colors of the orbit into the skeleton, giving it a similarly cloudy feel.
I wanted to play with compolimentary colors and found that orange and aqua worked best with the equipment in the arcade.
