Crafting a rich brand identity for a prestigious wine merchant.
Family-run importer and distributor of fine European wines, Rosenthal Wine Merchant engaged North Street to craft an elevated visual identity system and website that reflect the prestige and rich history of the organization and the vineyards it represents. Working directly with growers across Europe, Rosenthal Wine Merchant procures and imports wines that reflect a "specific sense of place.” This notion that the flavor profile of a wine is dictated by its geography and its maker drove the design direction; the visual identity needed to capture both the feeling of drinking exceptional luxurious wine and the terroir that birthed it.

As part of the visual identity work, we also performed a “forensic” or surgical cleanup of the existing logo, which graces the back of every wine bottle they import.
Brand photography consists of compelling, intimate, and transportive images that underscore the brand’s unprecedented access to the world’s best growers and vintages; select photos are treated with a risograph effect to give a sense of textured grittiness, like vineyard soil. The brand identity also includes an extensive library of grower maps.
In addition to showcasing their portfolio of wines, the new website needed to serve as an effective sales tool and information resource for sales representatives and distributors. The updated design enables reps to build orders for restaurants, vintners, and other purveyors while on the road.
