Research
Research plays a pivotal role in the product design process. It involves gathering insights from the current market landscape, allowing you to discern effective and ineffective strategies. My focus would be on analyzing visual styles, branding, and user flow to inform my design decisions.
Various strategies and approaches were employed to gain deeper insights into user challenges and uncover areas of discomfort:
Engaging in discussions with both dog owners and prospective users through interviews.
Conducting a thorough analysis of competitors to grasp the market landscape and uncover potential product advantages.
User Persona
The user persona was developed from a particular scenario involving an individual facing challenges in balancing their weekly activities due to the high demands of caring for their dog.
Prototype User Flow
The following is a flow chart that reflects the steps of a sign up or login and then select a dog sitter and chat with him. This visual representation demonstrates the process of booking a dog walk by exploring available walkers, selecting a preferred one, and choosing the desired date and time for the appointment.
This user-friendly flow ensures a seamless and effortless experience for scheduling a dog walk.
Wireframing
Prior to applying the final design, the flows underwent testing through handwritten wireframes.
Colors, Styles & Design System
Following thorough wireframe testing and feedback analysis, the visual design was perfected by defining styles, typography scale, colours and then apply them to some components to achieve the final look.
