Year in a Day

A visualization of a year's worth of trips on the bike-sharing service Hubway, taken from a dataset they released which included over half a million trips in all. The white arcs represent individual rides, showing the station at which each ride begins and ends, by time of day. The data is presented over a miniature, stylized wooden map of Boston, to add a playful, tangible aspect to the information.
