SS7 - An introduction to modern signaling
Regardless of my main role in a team, my languages and copywriting skills often nominated me technical writer for co-workers and peers. I never minded this, for I have learned a lot this way. Researching, imparting knowledge, and learning from the whole process.
This white paper is the result of such moment. Its aim was to explain the basics of signaling up to the SS7 protocol to a neophyte audience in the telecommunications field. I recount the history of signaling, followed by the SS7 network configuration in a simple language.
