New Wave

Introduction

Project

Establish visual language of a new NFT marketplace app that is ready to revolutionize the digital art scene. Lock a visual aethetic and then scale the design on multiple screens, based on the wireframes and the flow that is provided from the client. Build a UI Library of the final UI and create a funciontal prototype.

Process

  1. Moodboard

  1. Wireframes

  2. Visual Exploration

  3. Lock and Scale Design

  4. UI Library

Moodboard

Created two moodboards with different visual directions during the initial phase of exploration.

Wireframes

Visual Exploration

Tried out dark and bright design themes while choosing a final path to develop. The bright theme focused on more violet and pink tones with gradient colours. The dark theme consisted of having a black background with strong contrast colours.

Lock & Scale Design

I went with the bright design with violet, pink and grey colours. The app is primarily built using three colours with a combination of gradients and noise elements. The buttons and components are edge like displays with some superimposition to make them pop a little.

Final Summary

This case study is a culmination of the skills learned during the Dribbble Intro to UI Design course. I have been able to learn the essentials of Figma, how to conduct research and create a final design from inception to finish for a client. Being able to apply these UI fundamentals will enable me to complete to same design process for all sorts of other projects.

The next steps for me would be to continue to refine my skills of UI design and be able to apply them in my career and personal projects.

Given a list of requirements and functionality from the beginning of a project I can use design fundamentals to create applications and websites that are both functional and visually appealing. The design can also be iterated on and refined by gaining feedback from users once going live or conducting small surveys on groups of people.

The final impact of this case study and design is being able to deliver a design to the customer that meets their requirements in the initial project summary.
