Make Work Fair for Women / #DoneWaiting

Are you familiar with the "Motherhood Penality"? It's wild… 🙄

It's a phenomenon where mothers face hiring, promotions, and pay bias simply because they have children.

This discrimination is based on the assumption that mothers are less committed to their jobs and less competent than their childless peers.

This penalty affects all mothers, regardless of their work experience, qualifications, or the number of children they have and limits opportunities for advancement.

It is especially pronounced for women in low-wage jobs and women of color, who already face additional barriers in the workplace.

Women's rights to good jobs with livable wages and fair working conditions are crucial for achieving gender equality and creating a more inclusive workforce.

We must challenge and change the stereotypes and biases that perpetuate this harmful practice.

Above is the second poster highlighting one of the four pillars of the #DoneWaiting campaign: Making Work Fair for Women.
