Čiūto Tūto Geometric Pattern 🖤

Čiūto Tūto is a part of Lithuanian multi-vocal polyrhythmic chanting, called Sutartinės, used to sing while standing, sometimes including moderately uncomplicated choreography. It’s believed that through this repetition the singer and the listener can come back to themselves, feel the connection with the earth, and meditate in a way. It gives you the strength to connect your mind, body, and soul. It's like a mantra that heals you.

Sutartinės were written down from the 16th century onwards, in the beginning of the 20th century they had nearly disappeared, due to the 150 years of the Lithuanian language ban which we have the occupation by the russian empire to thank for. A lot of this culture has been lost in time, but a lot, for sure, has been preserved. In 2010 UNESCO inscribed sutartinės on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. 🤍🖤🧡💜
