I am Khoi

This is my first time to design a typeface. With an urge to design something relatable and adaptable from authentic pieces, I was inspired by the rock paintings in Domboshava, Zimbabwe. The San people painted them ages ago. They used a freehand, creative style of elongated figures using sticks as a brush, animal blood mixed with urine and plant based fluid as a medium of paint. I designed a type from that style and named it KHOI, from Khoi khoi or Khoe and also started a slogan “I am Khoi” which is translated to “I am the real men” which can be used as a label on different merchandise.
