The city of Temecula California, lies in the south-western region of Riverside County. The city name originates from the Luiseño Native American word "Temecunga" meaning "place of the sun". Throughout the years, a variety of interpretations of "Temecunga" have been established, yet the most well-known is "Where the sun breaks through the mist".
