Groundswell Fungi - Ride The Spore (Logo)
In 2020 I designed a negative space surf logo that shows the tip of a board cutting through a wave. The overall shape of the design looked like a mushroom. I ended up creating a slogan called "Ride The Spore." That gave the design some context. This project went into the portfolio for a couple of years before being rediscovered.
In 2023 the company that purchased this design was called Groundswell Fungi. They are from Santa Cruz CA. They are a small urban mushroom farm and supplement company. The owners are surfers and this logo became the perfect reflection of their lifestyles.
Previously only a badge existed. Now there are options for how this brand can be displayed.
A new font with four weights and an earth-tone color palette was introduced. This helped keep the mushroom vibe as the primary focus.
