MyBookshelf - Bookmark Design 📚

Bookmark Design for MyBookshelf.pl 📚

Objective

The goal was to design a promotional bookmark for MyBookshelf, the web application for book lovers. The bookmark needed to inform potential users about the platform and drive traffic to the website.

Solution

I designed a rectangular bookmark with a clear, engaging layout on the front side (obverse). At the top, I placed the MyBookshelf logo, followed by the inviting phrase "Add a book". Beneath it, there is a placeholder-like book illustration, symbolizing the action of adding a book to the platform. Then, I added the following call-to-action "on your virtual shelf". I included a QR code that leads directly to the MyBookshelf.pl website. The QR code is cleverly positioned on an illustrated shelf, integrating it seamlessly into the design. Finally, at the bottom, I added the website URL "www.mybookshelf.pl" for those who prefer traditional browsing.

To keep things interesting and create a sense of collectability, I designed four variations for the back side (reverse) of the bookmark, each with a different background color: "macaroni", "parsley", "flamingo", and "bottle green". Each variant has the MyBookshelf logo at the bottom, rendered in white to ensure contrast and visibility against the different backgrounds.

Outcome

The MyBookshelf bookmark not only serves its function as a bookmark but also acts as a promotional tool to attract new users to the platform. The design, color variations, and clever incorporation of a QR code make it an engaging piece of marketing material that bridges the gap between the physical act of reading a book and the digital experience offered by MyBookshelf.
