Tile Based UI

I worked with Microsoft a few years back to develop a range of conceptual environments for a new Office app. The app would allow you to insert various kinds of multimedia content and documents in a visually cohesive tile-based layout — everything you need in one place.

An in depth examination of design styles led to a visual continuum where our team selected a dozen styles to explore. Here's one of of the explorations from the more communicative/conservative end of the spectrum.
