Çınarcık Belediyesi
Redesign for Çınarcık municipality. This project is only a concept and is not in use. Why a redesign as an initiative for the municipality? When I go on vacation in Turkey, it is always there and when I took a closer look at the logo or the coat of arms of the city this time, the problems were immediately apparent. The original and current logo simply carries too much with it and tires the eye. Colors that are contrasty but wildly mixed; fonts that look distorted and have no fixed place; elements in themselves that have no fixed place and are not well balanced either, etc. In the redesign, I went back to the main colors, but combined them in a simplified and high-contrast way. The font is Helvetica Neue, as it looks very neutral and neither steals the show nor fights for the attention of the symbol / icon.
Çınar translates as plane trees and they are the only genus of the plane tree plant family. Many plane trees with their maple leafs can also be found in Çınarcık.
Since steamboats for passengers travel from Istanbul to Çınarcık and vice versa, the stronger lines represent a steering wheel and the the lighter lines represent the sun´s rays. The five stronger lines represents the other cities of Yalova province: Altınova, Armutlu, Çiftlikköy, Termal, Yalova Merkez. The sun rays were divided into 4 lines each, so that they represent the 4 cities of Çınarcık: Çınarcık, Koru, Esenköy, Teşvikiye and the 4 villages of Çınarcık: Çalıca, Kocadere, Şenköy, Ortaburun repeatedly.
Çınarcık is also known for the sea, so the three stripes represent the sea. The waves at the sea are a trademark and the compass is here again for both the steamships and the leaf stalk of the maple leaf. With the compass the wave is particularly deep, since it is to associate the ship, which crosses the sea.
