Herb Icon Set

DELIVERABLES:

1. 15 Vector Icons

   1. SVG

   2. PNG

PROCESS:

1. Researched the most commonly used fresh herbs in cooking and narrowed the list down to 15 herbs

2. Roughly sketched the 15 herbs in one document to build a cohesive style

3. Polished the sketches using a thick brush to insure the design weren't too detailed for use at small sizes

4. Vectored the designed in Adobe Illustrator using a monoline style with line weight consistent with previous icon packs

5. Exported each icon as a PNG and a SVG

CHALLENGES:

1. Dill and fennel were a challenge because they look so similar

SOLUTIONS:

1. To differentiate between dill and fennel, I chose to convey the tactile differences in the designs - dill has shorter and more stiff leaves, while fennel is longer and floppier. Putting that into the line style made the icons feel like they represented two different plants
