Low Poly, High Caffeine

A low-poly mug of coffee with an outline, surrounded by the words "LOW POLY HIGH CAFFEINE"

The mug was created as an exercise in wrapping my head around Blockbench, a program seemingly intended for Minecraft modding but suitable for other low-polygon work outside of that game. After the mug was created, the idea entered my head to give it an outline, the old sixth-generation way. This meant extruding out the entire shape a tiny bit and inverting the new faces so that all non-culled sides faced inwards, achieving the same effect seen in Jet Set Radio and XIII, among others.

After a bit of trial and error importing it into Aseprite, I finished the end result.

I used the included Copper Tech palette for this one.
