Peopleshore.io / My Freelance Experience
I successfully completed a short-term project on Peopleshore.io, delivering outstanding UI components, a robust Design System, detailed Prototypes, and seamless mobile and desktop versions within a span of less than two months.
You can read my experience down below in next few blocks.
Working with just a WordPress developer and myself was a unique experience. Unlike my usual projects with a full team including project managers, front-end and back-end developers, and QA testers, this required us to handle a wide range of responsibilities.
Small Team, Big Responsibilities
I took on the role of both a product designer and project manager, further amplifying the unique experience of working with just a WordPress developer and myself. In contrast to my usual projects with a full team comprising project managers, front-end and back-end developers, and QA testers, this endeavor necessitated us to shoulder a diverse array of responsibilities.
As the product designer and project manager, I diligently worked on creating a comprehensive product timeline, establishing clear product goals, and actively contributing to the generation and enhancement of ideas presented to me. This multifaceted role allowed me to shape the project direction and ensure that all aspects aligned with the overarching vision. At least to some degree.
Communication Challenges with Stakeholders and Developer
Effectively communicating and discussing certain decisions proved to be difficult at times. It was evident that both the stakeholders and developer lacked real knowledge and experience working in a more professional environment, which sometimes made it challenging to reach consensus.
Despite these challenges, I successfully delivered outstanding UI components, a comprehensive Design System, impressive prototypes, and seamless mobile and desktop versions within a remarkably short timeframe of 25 working days.

Enhancing Prototype Adoption in Figma: Bridging the Gap
One notable issue is the reluctance of stakeholders to engage with Figma and explore the prototypes. As a result, additional explanations become necessary, and the transparency of my work feels compromised. On the development side, there are consistent difficulties with navigation and a lack of familiarity with Figma, requiring extensive exports and additional support.
It remains uncertain whether the root of the problem lies within me, Figma itself, or the stakeholders and developers. Nevertheless, I am determined to explore ways to overcome these challenges and improve the adoption of prototypes in future projects.
Empowering Growth: Reflecting on a Challenging Yet Valuable Experience
Certain projects have the power to propel your career in the right direction, particularly in the initial phases. This particular project stands out as one that provided a significant boost, enabling me to deliver exceptional results within a short timeframe despite lacking support. However, it raises questions about whether this approach is beneficial, as stakeholders may mistakenly believe the project is complete.
Although this experience ultimately left a bitter taste, its sudden and unexpected conclusion served as another example of unprofessional behavior. Nonetheless, I consider it a valuable learning opportunity.
One significant lesson learned is my ability to assume the role of a product designer. This time, my performance surpassed even my initial experience, which was my first foray into this role.
