Hungry! A recipe app
Intro
I worked on developing a SaaS product for Handprint, which aimed to provide end-users of e-commerce platforms with a plugin showcasing the positive impact generated by the company. Additionally, the SaaS enables businesses to connect with NGOs to receive photos of the impact generated, and track the evolution of their impact and offer also more features. The product was designed to be directed towards individuals or large corporations who could purchase impact directly from Handprint partners.
Challenges
Designing an intuitive and user-friendly interface to cater to the needs of young, inexperienced cooks and make the recipe app engaging and enjoyable for them.
Creating a visually appealing and modern brand identity that stands out in the competitive market, capturing the attention of the target audience and attracting new users.
Ensuring seamless navigation and a smooth user journey to enhance user satisfaction and encourage regular usage of the app.
Constraints
As the sole stakeholder and researcher of this personal recipe app project, the constraints involved self-directed decision-making, requiring thorough research and understanding of user needs to create an engaging and user-friendly experience.
Incorporating feedback solely from personal testing and iteration processes limited the availability of external perspectives and insights.
Solutions
Implement intuitive navigation, clear instructions, and visual cues to make the app user-friendly and accessible to individuals with limited cooking knowledge.
Design an intuitive and efficient user interface that allows for easy browsing, searching, and filtering of recipes. Implement interactive features, such as step-by-step instructions with visual aids, timers, and shopping list generation, to simplify the cooking process and enhance the overall user experience.
Introduce personalization features, such as saved favorites, customized recipe recommendations based on user preferences, and the ability to create and share personal recipe collections with friends. This promotes a sense of ownership and encourages users to explore and engage with the app's content.
