Think outside the (bird)box!
If you want to stand out in a market, you have to come up with something unique. Your product or service has to be so good that your target audience prefers you over the competition. And even when you have that, like struiz, it is no guarantee of success. What we wanted to create is a smile, a feeling and a reminder every time someone sees an expression of struiz. No boring white bigbags with a logo of an indecipherable construction company. No no, a bright yellow bigbag with an ostrich on it including the text: struiz - put your shovel in the sand!". So that when you feel the need to fix your garden, you remember that one moment and think: oh yes, it was something with a bird, an ostrich, oh yes struiz! And bam: within 2 ostrich steps, you are on the webshop ordering a bigbag.
FYI struiz comes the dutch word "struisvogel", which means ostrich.
The name
During a brainstorming session in which hundreds of words passed in review, there was only one word that stuck: “struiz”. When this word was written down, dozens of ideas sprang up spontaneously for the brand story, tag line, tone of voice and visual identity. Then you know you've got something interesting
Furthermore, the ostrich is an iconic animal known for its speed, its sharp eyesight and light-footedness. All qualities that we as a company also have. Struis is a synonym for words such as robust, strong and tough, but by writing struiz with a "z" we make it just a bit more playful and softer.
