Posting a Question

Basic Science Priorities

Science is intrinsically linked to curiosity. What are the answers; what are the questions; what is the best we can do?

Technology is here to make our lives better. But science - is just for the true satisfaction of curiosity.

But whose curiosity? "Ours?" An individual scientist's? Are we all the same in our basic interests?

The prototypical graduate student flounders around, looking for interesting questions (interesting to whom) that they can tackle; that are fundable; that are not controversial or will get them kicked out of school or ignored. There are all these practicalities around determining what questions to even work on.

Maybe, instead, we can systematically catalogue questions of curiosity that we a priori reckon are worth confronting.

Where would those questions of curiosity come from?

All over the place! Whoever has a question of curiosity should be able to ask it; and see if it already has a satisfying answer; and if not, flag that they are unsatisfied.

Honest, curious children - schoolchildren - students - students of every level - they are us; they are a window into what we wonder. Let us poll them - poll us - and set priorities for scientists to work on.

User Interface

Questions of curiosity from as many people as possible should be log-able; searchable. Answers should be aligned; and missing pieces after supposed answers are provided should be flagged.
