Don Quixote Illustration

For my love of books and classics, I wanted to illustrate the classic tale of Don Quixote. The illustrations went into a book with selected excerpts of type from Penguin Classics' Don Quixote. The type was arranged experimentally, interacting with the illustrations and helping to set the theme and mood of the story. It is my belief that Cervantes, the author of Don Quixote, put a bit of himself into the character of Don Quixote, having been captured during war and held as a prisoner for five years. Throughout the novel, there are bits and pieces that prove this idea and I wanted to uphold the satirical comedy of a madman while also remembering the life of Miguel de Cervantes Saavadra.
