BowWow Dog Walking App

Project Overview

This is BowWow, a dog walking app to discover trusted dog walkers in your neighborhood. I created this app concept as part of Dribbble’s product design course. We were given a project brief, met weekly for brainstorming and feedback sessions. We followed a product design process from research through to the end prototype.

User Interviews

I prepared questions that I thought would best solve the problems we identified in the brainstorming session. To answer the questions I found two dog walkers and a dog owner to participate in user interviews.

User Persona

Based on the research process including user interviews and brainstorming sessions, I took the learnings to develop a user persona.

Onboarding user flow

While considering the onboarding process of similar competing apps, I went to work creating the user flow for BowWow’s onboarding process. Creating a user flow gives purpose and direction, focusing on the user experience prior to starting wireframes.

Moodboard

Next I created a moodboard and wireframes while exploring multiple design directions using my research to leverage the visual direction of the app.

Visual Design

Using everything I created up until this point came together in the visual design stage. The research process, user persona, user flow, wireframes, mood boards, it all shows in the final screen designs for BowWow

Prototype

The last step was to prototype the app and collect user feedback. Try the prototype for yourself here!

Takeaways

Going through the entire product design process from early stage research through to the final product ready to hand off for development was a great learning experience. I've learned that product design is about far more than visual design alone, it's about solving challenging problems and the process of how you solve those problems.

Thank you for exploring my work!
