Tablet dashboard design for the elderly

Hi Guys!

In an interview a year ago, I was given the task of designing an app for elderly communication in a maximum of three days.

THE BRIEF:

Design a tablet dashboard that The target audience is seniors (60+) who see accessibility and maintaining an active social life as a key concern. Some of the key functionalities of the platform are to provide an easy way for them to connect and communicate with each other, create and stay informed about events, vote on community initiatives, request a repairman, and complete their basic profile. You may use this as a base set of features, but feel free to add additional features that would take this concept to the next level while considering the overall usability of the product.

MY PROCESS:

In the design stages, I first tried to get to know the personality traits, sufferings, pains and concerns of the elderly and face their needs and problems and then solve the problem in my design.

The elderly need to connect with others, they need to participate in social events

They also need to be cared for, not in a way that makes them feel weak

They should have easy and faster access to services and be reminded to make appointments, take medications and see doctors.

They should be reminded of activities that are good for their health, but in a way that they manage themselves.

So I tried to put some features in their dashboard, including:

🔹shopping and travel plans and cleaning and food services

🔹Blood pressure and heart rate are monitored by smart watches and they can see it on their dashboard

🔹A space to connect with others and vote for social events

🔹Essential services for emergency and fire

🔹I included colors in the user interface that allow people with color blindness to see visually beautiful color.

🔹They can remotely control the lamps and the door
