The Coalition Re-brand

The Coalition for Family & Children’s Services in Iowa (the Coalition) mission is to enhance the collective impact of member agencies’ services to children and families.  We advocate for the people who provide services to children and families and for the needs of children and families.  In practical terms, this means that we are both a trade association and an advocacy organization. We are a statewide association of nonprofit and for-profit human service providers.

Continuum. This is an important concept for our membership. As Coalition members, we provide a continuum of care for families in Iowa’s child welfare system, and as we grow to support every level of care — from prevention to intervention to treatment for Iowa’s most acute children — this idea becomes even more crucial. This logo demonstrates a continuum of care, one element connected to the next, in an ongoing wheel. The shapes are also loosely evocative of petals — blossoming as a metaphor for what we hope to see in the families we serve and, indeed, the system as a whole: transformative change, adaptation to meet new needs (Family First Prevention Services Act), blooming in the midst of challenging conditions.
