Munch website 2023

Overview

Munch is focused on bringing technology to the dated old food and drink industry. They have created a range of products from a Table-side ordering PoS to easy to use Kitchen Display System. Munch also has a unique order and pay app which allows the average person to order from their very own device inside a restaurant.

The challenge

The client wanted a website that speaks more about the products and services they offer to food and beverage industry rather than a site that mostly speaks to the restaurant customers about the order and pay app. With the new site, the client also wanted to reimagine the brand and give minor a face-lift.

The process

For the new website, I analyzed competitors, explored conversion rate formulas, created a sitemap, and designed wireframes. Using the knowledge gained from that, I designed the refreshed UI, prepared assets, and built the website with frontend technologies. Regular check-ins with the client ensured alignment on all fronts.

The concept

For the concept of the new website I took inspiration from the brand and their clients. Keeping in mind that most of their clients are restaurants, I envisioned a restaurant kitchen, busy and sometimes messy with sauces dripping. I merged this with the playfulness of the brand and tried to create a playful, yet professional website, mimicking playful motion mixed with pops and scribbles to represent the messy kitchen.

Key learnings

One key thing I have learned from this is how to create websites that focus more on conversion. I saw that not only is it important to have the correct content on a site, but it is also important in which order that content is displayed to the user. I have found that users tend to lose interest in some parts of the site, and interactions or breaking scroll pattern can bring back their attention.
