The book Mystic Cave, A History of the Nativity Church in Bethlehem of Michele Bacci is the first books of the Convivia edition (https://www.viella.it/libro/9788867288199) . The academic books in this series are created under the hands of a professional graphic designers who creates a unique book design and strives to achieve visual solutions to help readers navigate, read and work through the book.

Published 2017.

The main graphic element is the star, which refers to the biblical story of a falling star that pointed and the path of the Biblical Magi to the place of Christ's birth.

The first chapter has only one line, the fourth (see picture below) is made up of four, which puts the star together.

With each academic book, the graphic designer is faced with the challenge of incorporating footnotes into the text. Footnotes with their information about sources, references, and more is an important component for the research and credibility of an academic text. Therefore, the importance of footnotes is emphasized here by the use of a footless font and a yellow line separating the footnotes from the text. Its very low positioning highlights the importance of footnotes visually entering the text.
