Brief/ Visual redesign concept for New York’s leading theater for independent movies and art house cinema, Film Forum and a short animated intro created in After Effects announcing Film Forum’s 50th Anniversary from 2020.

The redesigned logo for Film Forum encapsulates the essence of this renowned nonprofit cinema, celebrating its distinctive position as the only autonomous cinema of its kind in New York City and one of the few remaining in the United States.
I wanted to showcase the allure and legacy of film in the color palette. The elegance is captured in the deep depths of the “cinema noir” navy blue and velvety “scarlet curtain” hues combined with the warmth and radiance that emanate from the screen, signifying the illumination of ideas and perspectives evoked from the orange tones, “sunset strobe” and “golden reel.”
The typography chosen for the logo is impactful yet approachable. It conveys a sense of timelessness, mirroring the carefully curated selection of films that transcend eras and genres.
