Bento boxes

Everyone seem to be using grids of boxes (or Bento boxes) these days.

We are exploring way to systemize this pattern. In this process we started by exploring the type of boxes using our current bits and pieces, plus a couple new potential brand elements. The storytelling potential of the mixed content collage is really interesting in our case to present specific feature sets with all the various UI and brand elements meshed together into a balanced composition.

Of course it's tempting to use the flexibility to feature eye-candy branding element such as mockups, 3D, glows... which we'll try our best to use only to harmonize the compositions. At GitHub we are lucky to be grounded by a strong Accessibility and Product culture that has, and I believe will, keep us hhonest in our visual language will occasionally trying truly innovative concepts.

We're planning on testing these in upcoming web project to test them out in real world context. More Bentos to come 🍱
