Boomplay is Africa's biggest music streaming and download platform recognized across the world as the No.1 music platform for African music. Users have access to over 100 million songs, videos, and entertainment news.
The Challenge
Boomplay has gained a lot of users and popularity over time, and users now need an easy way to access and manage their music on the move without using their phones or PCs. According to studies on statistica.com, there are over 100 million Apple Watch users, compared to an estimated 10.8 million Galaxy Watch sales by Samsung. Due to this and Boomplay's more than 75 million users, users need a solution that will enable Boomplay's fantastic music library and user experience to be extended to various devices (particularly smartwatches).

The image above is the Gospel tab, the third tab in the Boomplay Trending Songs section. It consists of gospel songs that are currently being listened to the most by users.
The Approach
The initail approach was ensuring the visuals would be created in accordance with the Apple Human Interface Guidelines.
Second was to create a watch app that would allow users to have music playback controls, access their libraries & podcast, and provide users with an offline feature where users can download their desired content.
The Result
A lightweight, standalone smartwatch app developed for wearable (smartwatch) users globally.
