Komainu (The guardian Dog)

New Year’s greeting card

2018 was the year of the Dog according to the Chinese zodiac. This dog is called ‘komainu’ which is a guardian and a lucky charm. You can find them at the entrance of certain shrines in Japan. I drew a cute komainu and put it with bold kanjis to create 'cute and cool' design for a new year's greeting card called 'Nengajo'.
