Imagining how to display all of the relevant information about not just one but multiple vehicles in a way the user could quickly understand was the most challenging task of the competition. I used a series of icons, as well as colors, to represent the various states that a vehicle can have. These icons also alert the user to any notifications or critical issues that a vehicle may be experiencing. The collection of icons makes scanning the list of vehicles to see how they are operating much easier. Rather than overloading the user with all the information for each vehicle, I proposed to present them with only the most relevant information. The outliner also contains controls for affecting each vehicle's basic flight operations. Expanding a line item shows properties associated with the vehicle, such as a mission flight plan or safe landing zones.
