Awareness campaign on IoT for traffic management

This was a design project that I had received in our college, wherein I had to create an awareness campaign on IoT (Internet of Things) for traffic management in cities. This project involved tons of research, ideation and prototyping of deliverables.

Problem Statement:

Traffic congestion is a growing problem in urban areas around the world, leading to increased travel times and negative impacts on the environment. The current traffic management systems are outdated and unable to effectively manage the flow of vehicles on the roads. 

Design Brief:

•Subject: IoT for Traffic Management Awareness Campaign

•Problem area: Traffic problems faced by people of urban cities and how IoT can solve them

•Problem Statement: Many people in urban cities face traffic problems on a daily basis. This leads to loss of time, frustration and often accidents. Moreover, people are unaware of the technological benefits of IoT and how it can be used in traffic management.

•Target Audience: The general public, including drivers, pedestrians, public transportation users, basically anyone in the transportation sector.

•Project Description: To increase public awareness and understanding of the potential benefits of IoT technology in traffic management. The campaign will inform the public on how IoT technology can be used to optimize traffic flow, divert traffic in case of accidents, and give priority to emergency vehicles. By raising awareness and understanding of the potential benefits of IoT technology in traffic management, this campaign aims to encourage greater adoption of these technologies and contribute to a more efficient and sustainable transportation system. The campaign will use a variety of communication channels, including social media, print and digital media to reach a wide audience.

Design Statement:

The awareness campaign for IoT for traffic management will be designed to educate the general public, government authorities, and other stakeholders about the benefits of IoT technology in traffic management. The campaign will use various channels such as social media, posters and billboards to reach a wide audience. The campaign will focus primarily on the benefits of IoT based traffic management systems. By creating awareness and educating the public and government authorities, the campaign aims to increase the adoption of IoT-based traffic management systems, leading to a more efficient and sustainable transportation system.

Deliverables:

These billboards were made by making an actual traffic intersection on Blender and then using its images for the 3d feel.

The deliverables are designed keeping in mind the latest design trends of this year (2023). They focus mainly on the benefits of IoT for Traffic Management Smart System .i.e. ability to organize traffic efficiently and giving priority to emergency vehicles and dynamically changing routes in case of emergency protocol.
