Hello AI: Redefining Chatbot Apps with Personalized UX/UI

Challenge: In a world where instant solutions are the norm, we recognized the challenge of creating a chatbot app that not only delivers reliable and accurate responses but also offers an intuitive and user-friendly interface. At Air Apps, we embarked on a mission to develop an app that provides personalized experiences in real time, all while ensuring a delightful and seamless user journey.
Initial Ideation: Hello AI was born out of a visionary idea when ChatGPT went public. The concept aligned closely with our current vision.
Inspired by Apple's iconic "Hello world" phrase, symbolizing personalized and friendly experiences, we embraced the growing significance of AI and branded our app as "Hello AI." The unique "Hello" logo, crafted with a custom font inspired by various cursive styles, became the visual cornerstone of our design.
Once we had a solid logo we were all happy with. We went ahead creating a mockup concept of what the UI could look like.
Design Iterations:
We worked closely with the product managers to establish the app's overall flow and incorporated the desired features.
To make the interface warm and approachable, we chose a teal color scheme. As we had to present over 100 options, we introduced a curated list of prompts and opted for dynamic categories that populated the chat with relevant prompts. We also added follow-up prompts within the chat to make generating responses easier for the users. To improve the browsing experience, we developed expandable cells to display prompt categories. This approach makes prompt selection a breeze.
Current Designs:
Our team's unwavering attention to improving the chat experience resulted in removing the home screen and placing conversations at the forefront. We have made every effort to create a design prioritizing effortless and enjoyable conversation.
Onboarding: To create a captivating first impression, we added an animated hello logo during onboarding. This visually appealing animation sets the tone for a delightful user journey.
Speech and Scan: Hello AI now offers speech recognition capabilities, enabling users to speak their messages simply. Users can also express their preferences through Like, Dislike, and Copy functionalities. Through iterative design refinements, we made these buttons smaller and more visually harmonious with the chat interface.
Markdown: To expand response capabilities, Hello AI now supports generating marked-down text. This allows the app to provide code snippets, apply text styles such as bold, underline, and italic, and create tables and lists, ensuring a versatile conversational experience.
