Packaging - SVG Period Care

Collage of completed design
Preliminary design from 1HQ

Preliminary Design: 1HQ

After multiple iterations with an external design firm, 1HQ, we ultimately opted to handle the packaging redesign internally.

1HQ provided the following:

  • Primary display panel (PDP) for a 18 ct Regular Tampon

  • PDP for a 32 ct Super Pad

  • Two female-presenting profiles

  • Two colored leaf textures

Completed Design: In-house SVG

To simplify, align with the brand, and meet category standards, I made the following modifications and revisions to the design after reevaluating the business's requirements:

  • Revised color scheme to include 2 brand colors and 5 absorbency level sets

  • Added benefit icons

  • Eliminated unnecessary copy blocks to simplify the design

  • Incorporated new leaf textures to match absorbency

  • Created 3 new face profiles

  • Added a leaf pattern

  • Designed 5 additional packaging sides

  • Updated content hierarchy in compliance with medical device packaging regulations

I first established a design system that adhered to category specifications and requirements. This involved assigning colors to each absorbency level and selecting a brand color to be used consistently throughout the product line.
