#Case Study - Mockups Pills Reminder App (another version)

During the Google UX Design course, I worked on a project in Figma to create the Pills Reminder App. The goal was to design a user-friendly and intuitive application that would assist users in effectively managing their medication schedules.

Throughout the design process, I focused on creating a clear and concise interface that would be easy for users to navigate. I started by conducting user research and gathering insights about the needs and pain points of individuals who take regular medication.

Based on the research findings, I created wireframes and interactive prototypes using Figma. I ensured that the app's layout and features were intuitive and aligned with user expectations. The key elements of the app included a medication schedule management system, reminder notifications, pill tracking, and refill reminders.

Problem

It can be difficult and complex to manage medication schedules, especially for those who take multiple medications or have busy schedules. Missing a dose or taking medication incorrectly can lead to serious health complications and consequences. This can be particularly worrisome for elderly individuals, people with chronic conditions, and those who rely on medication to manage their symptoms. Thankfully, a pills reminder app can help address these issues by providing users with personalized and timely reminders, allowing them to stay on top of their medication schedules and improve their overall health outcomes.

Solution

The main objective of a pills reminder app is to assist users in efficiently managing their medication schedules. This is particularly crucial for individuals with multiple medications, intricate dosing schedules, or those who may have difficulty remembering or organizing their medications. By providing customized and timely reminders, such an app can enhance medication adherence and help prevent missed doses or potential health issues.

Prototype

This is an interactive prototype of a Pills Reminder App created in Figma. The prototype showcases the app's various features, including medication schedules, reminders, and medication history. Users can interact with the prototype and understand how the app would function in real life. The prototype is designed with a user-centric approach, emphasizing ease of use and clear communication.

UI Design

This UI design represents the final version of the Pills Reminder App. Overall, this UI design serves as a strong example of effective UX design and demonstrates the potential for technology to improve medication management and health outcomes for users. The Pills Reminder App UI design offers an intuitive and user-friendly interface, with clear and concise messaging and visual cues to guide users through the medication management process. The use of color coding and iconography helps users easily identify and differentiate between different medications and dosage instructions.

Next steps

01

I would focus on testing the app with users to gather feedback and iterate on the design. I would also explore additional features, such as integrating the app with electronic health records or providing educational resources on medication management.

02

My advice to the team or designer following me would be to prioritize user-centered design and continually gather feedback from users throughout the design process. It is also important to stay up to date on advancements in technology and healthcare to ensure the app remains relevant and effective in improving medication management and health outcomes.

03

Finally, collaboration with healthcare providers and experts in medication management can help inform and improve the app's design and functionality.

Learnings

Throughout the Pills Reminder App project, I learned new design skills and tried out different design practices. This project allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the users' needs and preferences, which has influenced the way I approach design problems.

By challenging my assumptions and biases, this project has helped me become a more empathetic and user-centric designer. Overall, this experience has contributed to my growth as a designer and has provided me with valuable lessons that I can apply to future projects.
