Global accessibility awareness day

Neurodiversity

Alt text: A lush green and orange plant circle lay on a concrete wall in the center background while two half circles of the same plants create a foreground to show the depth and complexity of the layout. The plants on the wall and its shadows all move with the wind creating a a calming but dynamic atmosphere.

This year we're celebrating Global Accessibility Awareness Day with our expanded collection of Microsoft Teams backgrounds 🖼️ that we created in partnership with Twisted Poly–celebrating the innovation fostered by the disability community .

Each background nods to one of six different accessible technology areas in a layered and dynamic way to invoke themes of visibility, representation, and equity. For our design teams, Teams background creative work is always centered around creating immersive digital experiences that empower self-expression and conversation for our audiences 🤝.

Learning

Alt Text: Multiple arches are stacked on top of each other in this blue and orange landscape that shows a changing of seasons; from a cool blue on the left to a blossoming orange/pink/purple on the right. The whole scene is alive as well with the plants on the arches breathing back and forth.

Mobility

Alt Text: A concrete DNA strand with luscious purple and red flowers on it traverses across the screen from left to right. The background has many shadows and concrete walls that contrast nicely with the flowers.

Mental Health

Alt Text: A weaving S on a concrete wall covered in orange and green shrubs that dance in the wind.

Hearing

Alt text: a 3D rendered image of a pair of walls in an imaginary landscape. On the walls there are fuzzy blue and green luscious growth forming abstract shapes.

Vision

Alt text: The left foreground contains a circle that resembles a human eye. The iris being a turquoise, yellow and blue color. The right side of the foreground contains the same turquoise and yellow colored moss on the ground. The background is a concrete wall that is there to create depth to the image.

A new addition to the collection, showcasing the intersectional and powerful experience of the disability community, nodding to the colors and textures in each of the community backgrounds.
