What is Journaling?
Journaling is a written record of our thoughts & feelings. Journaling allows you to track patterns, improvement and changes over time. Looking back at previous entries you will be able to see problems that you’ve been able to overcome.Being reminded of the strength that you had in other situations helps us to move forward with more confidence.
Quantitative Research
I carried out a survey to find out what real users pain points are in journalling, and whats the barriers thats holding them back to utilising this amazing tool more.

In the qualitative analysis, I interviewed 15 people to understand more on the pain points of what is stopping them from pursuing journalling more often and also to figure out the needs they are really after
Competitive Analysis
I reviewed the comparable products out on the market, that have a similar goal of journaling. Most of them have an ease to use UI, but they are mostly lacking help to emote their emotions and making it an easy experience for the user
User Persona
Zoe is a professional photographer. She’s 23, single and enjoys time with her twin sister. She spends some days when she has the time to write in her journal, not on a regular basis due to busy nature and cumbersome of the process of what journalling entails

Below is a breakdown of the typical flow of journaling apps, the route I wanted to explore more was when the user records their entry in the journal via voice, AI could aid in suggesting by picking up the users tone, if they need additional help
Low Fidelity Wireframes
To flesh out the flow of the app, I started to wireframe some key low fi layouts to get a first look and feel to see if the function and usability is user friendly and clean.
High Fidelity Wireframes
After a few iterations of the wireframes, the next step was to add some real content and to bring the whole design to life. The purpose of this stage was to get close to how the user would experience the final app in a working and visual manner.
