Optima Alphabet Cards

Based upon vintage alphabet card games, this deck is a Tribute to Hermann Zapf, the designer of the Optima typeface. Each of the 26 cards features information about the font Optima as well as basic Typography.

Optima was designed in Germany between 1952 and 1955. It is classified as a humanist typeface, which means it is inspired by the strokes of a brush or pen, which is why the letters have the subtle begginings of serifs on the terminals and more weight in the downstrokes.
