Re-defining Patient-Doctor Experience

This concept won the DASH design hackathon 2018 in the healthcare challenge that was provided by DXCtechnology

Problem

After interviewing Finnish doctors, it became evident that time management is one of the biggest problems in the industry. It can be difficult and frustrating to get an appointment with your doctor due to the many patients in a line and poor optimisation of the doctor’s time. The patient has to wait a long time for an appointment. They also quite often are not coming to an appointment without any warning.

  • One public general practitioner appointment is estimated to cost 110€ on average in the public sector.

  • Thousands of patients don't show up without cancelling their appointments.

  • Cancelling even a tiny percentage of appointments costs over 100 million euros yearly.

We knew there were better ways to manage time for doctors, so we set out to challenge:

📝 How can we use Information Technology to solve time management problems in the Healthcare Industry?

User stories in functions

We wanted to create an experience where communication is straightforward. The centralised doctor-patient appointment management system allows direct and secure communication between doctor and patient.

Prospects

Our solution, developed for the Finnish medical services market, is a centralized healthcare experience designed to improve time management and make your appointments more effective. However, this concept can be used in many European countries where this problem is common.
