Strange Days (1995) Alternative Movie Poster

1995's Strange Days has long been a favorite movie of mine. It's a (relatable) dystopian techno fable about a near-future 1999 as LA rests nervously on the cusp of a new century. The central focus of the story is a device that records the cerebral cortex input of the person wearing it, allowing for a fully-immersive "playback" of every sense, every emotion, every feeling for the person playing it back (from MiniDisc, which in spite of owing to the tech limitations of the times, actually feels tactile and cool much like the bulky dead tech you see in the Star Wars movies.)

Further the movie is about a brutalizing police state against the backdrop of the creeping dread of pre-millenial tension.

It also had one of the coolest teaser trailers in history (which you'll notice I took great care to match the typographic styles of in the poster...

Although it was for a long time a very hard movie to find, it's currently streaming on a variety of services and I cannot recommend you checking it out enough.
