Design Challenge


The client for this challenge is a logistics coordinator working in a trucking company. One of the primary and daily tasks of the coordinator is to track and manage tenders (auctions) of loads requested to be delivered by their customers.

Project Goal

Design a clean and modern list of tenders that will help our logistics coordinator to easily track all the information about different tenders (auctions) and their state. This solution should help them make faster and more effective decisions through their daily tasks.

There are two types of tenders, internal and external tenders (auctions). For internal tenders (auctions), loads get offered directly to a predefined list of carriers that have a contract with the company of our logistics coordinator. When offered a load, the carrier will have the option to either accept or decline the offer within 90 minutes.

External tenders (auctions) are public, open for bidding by any carrier, and have a longer deadline.

Both types of tenders need to have:

• load ID

• cargo type (refrigerated or dry)

• pickup and delivery destination

• mileage between pickup and delivery location

• pickup and delivery dates

• carrier name

• price per mile

• tender status...
