    Portrait sketches circa 2020. Call it cheating, but I drew these portraits with the aid of using a photo of the subject underneath the paper. This helped me lay down core line work and the proportions of the face.

    My freehand skills have drastically increased since then, and while I don't use this method anymore, I don't think there's much shame in using hacks to try and learn of how to draw better (especially when you're just starting out).
